He has everything planned… except her.
Rhys lives a life of solitude — one he’s perfectly content with. That is until his friend Vinny is found murdered. There are secrets and half-truths at every corner, but he’s determined to find out what happened.
Averill is exactly where she wants to be in life after years of running. She’s opened her own boutique and can finally breathe again. She thought she was safe… until her world collides with the dark shadows of Rhys’.
When he unknowingly puts her in the path of a serial killer, will he be able to protect her? Even if it means becoming the killer he’s trained to be?
Rhys was my first book by D.B James and I have to say for a first timer I quite enjoyed the writing style. This is definitely one of those books thus keep you wondering what happened to these characters why are they the way they are. I admit it did take me a while to warm up to Rhys, there was just something about him that ticked me off, like always I grew to to love him. I enjoyed Averills character which again is surprising i usually have more issues with the female characters than the male ones. Anyways, as a whole I thought this story was great. I had no issues and found this once I got over my dislike of Rhys an easy read. I’m actually really looking forward to discovering more of D.B James work
